Creative Minds---

So, I don't know why I dind't think of this before but I so could have spent my time blogging about my creative thoughts and geniuses!  You will never guess what I am. Okay so you have. I am a Crafter...Yes my home is full of my crafting ideas, things to make and do, hunts for hidden talents and those can I do that too projects.
One such crafting talent I have is decorating cakes. Its a hobby that allows my creative juices to flow. In college I was a decorator for a job and I hated it! There was no fun in making 200 of the same types of cakes. What really killed the decorating for a job was one Valentines Day I decorated 500+ heart shaped cakes. What a bore! I started at 2 in the morning and decorated all day the same roses and hearts. Can we say YAWN!
Even though I don't like decorating for a job I like doing it for my kids and friends.  I am a creative person, usually, and like to expand my talents. This year my daughter has requested that I make her a Smurf Village as her Birthday cake. Oh the fun and excitement of the day! You are correct that comment was made with mixed sarcasm.

So, yeah I don’t think I will be able to make it as fabulousa as the one that we scoped out and pictured above; but I do think I can get it some what close. Well…. scaled down close, more like this one.

I plan on having 3 to 4 larger mushrooms since we will only have about 9 birthday goers. There also won’t be Gargamel. It will just be a happy go lucky Village with addditional nature effects and smurfs. We will see though...And you bet I will post pictures of my villiage.

whirl wind of a month!

There are so many things that have gone on this past month that once the deadlines were met, this month has started to feel like a bore. But! The problem is that I have more deadlines to meet and they are coming up quickly and I have fizzled to a stand still. It’s almost like my motivation has been sunk in a bucket of cement.

This upcoming month, though not so serious as last month,  My deadlines for work only mean making sure my entire caseload is closed out with down town and getting ready for my eldest’s birthday party. We have a meeting this evening for Special Ed. (sp.ed.) I am hoping and praying that they are not going to announce that yet again we have more changes to make to the IEPs and again we have to redo our entire case load in a month. Last month when downtown announced that a large portion of sp.ed a large portion of Southside’s sp.ed teachers left on medical leave or quit. It was crazy.

Well fingers crossed I head to teach my classes and a meeting with the state to follow…

giggles...

Kids make me laugh.

I am amazed what an entire class will get up and look out the window at. The Squirrel family has them watching most of the time. The fun frantic of them running to and fro keeps one or two preoccupied with what is going on outside rather than inside.

Today though had ½ the class looking out the window at THE STREET SWEEPER! Yes that amazing machine that comes down the road and cleans it. It was almost as though it was a new invention. The excitement, the ohhs and ahhs, the smiles and laughter, the finger pointing….One might assume that I am speaking of a young elementary class, no, with as much irony as there is, the class that was overly impressed was one of my freshman classes.

Time Flies!

Okay so this blog has been sitting on the other computer for over a week now...Yeah me I finially remembered to email it to myself.
Enabling-

I was in a meeting with an administrator, parent and student about tardies. AND I am tired. I am tired of people enabling students bad behavior.  I have a student whose parent is able to work the system enough, where she has a chronic illness form so her student has no consequences for truancy or tardies. What the hell!
A student is allowed at home and now at school due to his BIP and IEP allowed to dictate his consequences. If only I didn’t have to bite my tongue, I would be able to say to this parent, “Let your student suffer the negative consequences for their bad behavior. STOP coming up with excuses for the refusal of negative responses and bad behavior! There is not anyone that I no that likes to be told NO but by the time they are in high school they should have learned how to handle being told no with out temper tantrums and you hollering about a law suit. Your child makes bad decisions and you need to let him suffer the consequences or he won’t know how to do it once he is an adult. Your student isn’t special ed, he just has bad behavior habits that you have enabled since birth!”

But then I think, what have I done to continue on the enabling of this students bad behavior? How have I allowed this to continue? Which students am I enabling without giving it a second thought? Do I enable my own children? What bad and obnoxious behaviors have I allowed and made excuses for? Have I enabled my self?

Oh Crap! I am also an enabler?!

Trying to find direction...

I am not sure what to do with this blog site. Maybe because it would be easier to write thoughts and happenings down if I didn’t know the people reading and responding. I think it would make it easier knowing that if I wrote something that offended or irritated, bored, or possibly made me look like a total dork (which I am a lot) it would be a person that I would most likely never meet.
Okay, I have really hashed out what I am going to with this site.
RANDOM THOUGHTS (please read with that loud booming announcer voice).
Regretfully I have had none since I decided to put all of them here, but I have stockpiled my purse with paper to write them down (when I’m not at the computer). Just hoping that I don’t have any while I’m in the shower.
